Welcome to the Walnut Valley Unified School District Child Care Program. The Child Care Program is a non-profit program that operates under the school district's umbrella. The Child Care Program has been operating under the school district's umbrella since 1991 and operated under the City of Walnut Recreation Department many years before that.

 

The Child Care Program is and must remain a self-funded, self-supported program. It currently operates 11 sites including 9 elementary schools, 1 middle school and 1 preschool. The objective of the Walnut Valley Unified School District Child Care Program is to provide a high quality, safe, and nurturing environment for children. Each child has the opportunity to develop a positive attitude toward his/herself and others in  their community.

In our elementary program also known as the Enrichment program we offer onsite care for children entering kindergarten through 5th grade. At the middle school program also known as Teen Scene we offer care for children entering 6th through 8th grade. Finally our Preschool also known as Walnut Valley Preschool Early Learning Center we offer programs for children 2 1/2 through 6 years old and completely toilet trained.

All of our sites offer before school and after school programs. Our operating hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Effective school year 2008/2009 we will not offer before school care on site at the Teen Scenes however, you could choose to attend an elementary school for before school care and be bussed (as long as bussing is available) to your middle school of attendance.

Our School Year Program runs from the first day of school, for school year 2012/2013 the first day is August 20, 2012 and the last day is Thursday, May 30, 2013. We also offer a Summer Program that starts immediately following the first Monday after the last day of school, for Summer 2013 the dates are June 3, 2013 to August 16, 2013 and it is 11 weeks long. School Year and Summer Programs offer 3, 4, or 5 day options.
