Walnut Valley Preschool & Early Learning Center

Welcome to Walnut Valley Preschool & Early Learning Center.  We are excited to be able to play an active role in the growth and development of your child’s early years.  We have planned many enriching experiences and fun-filled activities to enhance your child’s growth.  We look forward to working with you and your family to provide a positive preschool experience.

 Mission and Philosophy

The mission of the Walnut Valley Preschool & Early Learning Center is to provide each child with a high quality, safe, and nurturing environment.  Children will have the opportunity to develop a positive attitude towards oneself and others in their community.

We believe that the education of young children is based upon the child’s individual growth and development.  Each child is unique and develops at his/her own pace.  The staff at Walnut Valley Preschool & Early Learning Center is dedicated to providing an enriching environment that is developmentally appropriate and prepares children for academic success.

 Staff

The staff at Walnut Valley Preschool & Early Learning Center is hired for their dedication to the welfare of young children.  Prior to employment, applicants are screened by our district and must meet the educational requirements set forth by State Licensing in Title 22.  In addition, they are fingerprinted and trained in First Aid and CPR.  Preschool teachers and assistants are encouraged to continue their education by taking additional courses or attending conferences throughout the year.

All of our staff are mandated child abuse reporters and are legally required to file a report.  This is for the safety of your child as well as for all of the children in our care.

Our Program

Walnut Valley Preschool & Learning Center is a licensed (license #198-0005675), non-profit program operated by the Walnut Valley Unified School District.  It is a tuition-based, self-supporting program, not funded by the school district or the state.  We are open year-round, offering a school year and a summer program.

Walnut Valley Preschool & Early Learning Center has been providing care for children in Walnut Valley since 1974.  We serve children who are at least 2 years through 6 years of age.  We provide care from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.  We have many part-time and full-time options available to meet your needs.

Our preschool program is designed to enhance the development of the “Whole Child”.  The four main areas of growth are social/emotional, cognitive, language, and physical.  Our lesson plans include weekly goals and activities to develop language, music and movement, math and science concepts, reading readiness skills and creative art.

Our child-centered curriculum gives children the opportunity to learn through a variety of enriching experiences in a positive learning environment.  The children at Walnut Valley Preschool & Early Learning Center learn to appreciate the cultural uniqueness of our community through integrated experiences and activities.  Children are encouraged to develop problem solving and self-help skills that will prepare them to enter kindergarten.
