WALNUT, CA—The Walnut Valley USD Board of Trustees has appointed Matthew Brummett as the new assistant principal at Diamond Bar High School.
Brummett brings a total of nine years of educational experience to his new post, with eight of those years at Diamond Bar High.
“It is an honor to be back at Diamond Bar High School serving as the Assistant Principal. I feel so fortunate to be able to work with such fantastic students, staff and community. Diamond Bar High School is a special place, and I am looking forward to working alongside all stakeholders to ensure students continue to receive an exceptional educational experience” he said.
Brummett stepped in as the school’s interim assistant principal during the summer.
Prior to that, he worked as assistant principal at Suzanne Middle School for one year.
During his tenure at Diamond Bar High, Brummett served as instructional dean, assistant summer school coordinator, social studies teacher, girls head varsity coach, SBAC coordinator, and WASC accreditation co-author.
Brummett holds bachelor of arts and master of arts degrees from University of California, Irvine and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership at Azusa Pacific University.
He is married to Diamond Bar High grade level coordinator Jenna Brummett and they have two daughters.
Brummett succeeds former assistant principal David Hong who accepted a position as Director of AP Environmental Science with College Board.
