New Positions Approved for Walnut Valley Administrators

WALNUT, CA--The Walnut Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees approved the following positions during the May 15 Regular Board Meeting.
 
Donna Hunter has been named the new principal at Cyrus J. Morris Elementary School.

She has served as Interim Principal at the Walnut school since February 4, 2013, replacing An Nguyen who accepted a position as a LACOE Educational Technology Consultant.

Donna brings 15 years of educational experience and leadership to her new post and the very same school where she began her career. She served as Assistant Principal at Suzanne Middle School since 2008.

Prior to that, she was a Grade Level Coordinator and Summer School Assistant Principal at Walnut High School from 2001-2008. She was a Teacher at Sunnyvale Middle School in Sunnyvale, California and served as an Elementary Counselor at Cyrus J. Morris Elementary School from 1997 - 1999.

Donna received her Bachelor’s Degree from Pepperdine University and Master’s Degree in Education from Azusa Pacific University. She is currently completing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Azusa Pacific University.

Andrea Deligio has been named Instructional Dean at Walnut High School. She will replace Larry Holmes who will retire in June.

Andrea brings 15 years of educational experience to her to new post – all at Walnut High School.

Andrea has been a Grade Level Coordinator since 2003 and has also served as Summer School Assistant Coordinator for the past three years.  Prior to that she was an English teacher from 1998-2003.

She will begin in her new role in July.

Andrea received a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Cal Poly Pomona and a Master’s Degree in the Special Emphasis Program/PPS Credential from University of La Verne.

“We are looking forward to continuing the academic excellence at both schools with the approval of both of these outstanding leaders. Donna’s leadership at C.J. Morris will ensure the continued growth of quality programs such as the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program and the one-to-one technology. Andrea’s instructional expertise will be an asset to the curricular programs for all students at Walnut High School,” said Jackie Brown, Director of Educational Programs.
