Middle school math books

The middle school math teachers in Walnut Valley Unified School District have completed an extensive review of mathematics textbooks for Algebra 1. After a thorough examination of all of the materials, the following book has been recommended for adoption: Big Ideas Algebra 1. The Big Ideas Math program, written by Ron Larson and Laurie Boswell, utilizes a research-based balanced instructional approach that includes both discovery learning and direct instruction lessons.

Interested parents are welcome to stop by the District Office at 880 S. Lemon Avenue from Thursday, June 11, through Monday, June 29, between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm (Monday through Thursday) to review the materials.

The recommendation will go before the Board of Education on July 17, 2015.
