KIDS FIRST – EVERY STUDENT, EVERY DAY
I am extremely honored and proud to be a part of the Walnut Valley Unified School District (WVUSD).
Walnut Valley has a long-standing reputation as a premier school district – one of the state’s best. In fact, WVUSD was recently ranked as the #13 overall school district in California (out of more than 1,000 school districts statewide). We also enjoy continual success and accolades at our schools, such as both of our high schools (Diamond Bar HS and Walnut HS) being named among the Top 100 High Schools in America out of 30,000 plus high schools nationwide.
I hope that you take a few moments to peruse our website and learn about the wonderful things happening on our campuses. Furthermore, follow us on Twitter @WVUSD_tweet to stay updated and informed.
Working closely with the Board of Trustees, we (our faculty, staff, and community) have spent the past four years focusing on four key goal areas:
- Building Relationships
- Fiscal Stability
- Student Achievement
- Leadership Development at all levels of the organization
The teaching and learning taking place across the district is remarkable. Our students enjoy a 21st Century education that truly prepares them for the future and provides them with a plethora of unique opportunities.
Despite being one of the lowest funded districts in California based on the state’s newest funding structure, our district continues to advance the technology and resources available to our students. We will continue to research and find ways to fulfill and grow our focus on STEAM Education (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics).
I also am continually amazed by the extra-curricular programs and talents of our students and staff. Whether in the area of the Arts, Athletics, or enrichment activities, our students enjoy high caliber programs and instruction.
Finally, I value the parental pride and community involvement in our schools. I look forward to many more positive things to come in 2016-17.
